I used to do contract work at a hospital taking pictures of newborn babies for client’s who delivered there and wanted them. It was a weekly thing and I loved spending time with those brand new babies and their families every week. I don’t do the contract work anymore so when I client reached out wanting a fresh 48 session I was excited!
Fresh 48 sessions are very much lifestyle type session. It will most definitely look like it was taken at a hospital but done so it an artistic and pleasing way. I also like to bring a basket and take a few simple posed shots of baby in the basket. This brand new baby was privileged to have 5 older siblings. They were all so adorable and sweet with their brand new sister. The whole family was able to be there and was a special moment to capture.
Some great things about fresh 48 sessions are capturing baby in the environment that they were born in and how sleepy and snuggly they are. This baby seriously looked like an angel. She had beautiful complexion and just slept through the entire session. I love that part of my job is getting to hold and take pictures of precious babies. Can that even be called work…? I loved how the session turned out and I loved meeting this family. Below are a few of my favorites from the session.
Have I mentioned how much I LOVE babies?! Well, I do! I didn’t used to get why women fawned over babies but, after having my own and doing newborn photography, I totally get it! They are so precious!!! Thus, I love newborn photography. All the cute props, poses, outfits, and let’s not forget cute babies! Capturing their innocence is a privilege and I love being able to provide those memories for the parents.
Newborn sessions can be very long and so I love providing client’s the option to do the session in the comfort of their home! Baby “T” was a dream, he literally slept the whole time! He was so tiny and precious and put up with me constantly moving him around. Because he did so well the session went faster and was seamless. Of course, I work with baby and what baby wants. No rush. He fit perfectly in this cute, red wagon prop that would only support small babies like him. I am so pleased with how the session turned out. He was a champ!
Here are a few of my favorites from the session. I cannot stress enough the importance of getting professional pictures taken of your newborn baby. They are only this little once!!
Yes, yes, yes! Give me all the babies! I love newborn sessions because I get to take care of these brand new precious little babies if only for a brief time. They can cry, poop/pee all they want. I still love it! It has definitely taught me patience but capturing these beautiful, innocent miracles is so rewarding for me. Never will you child be this small again. My favorite pictures to look back on for my children are their baby pictures so please do not hesitate to get them professionally done, emphasis on professionally. We can make it work for your budget!
My most recent newborn session was so fun! She was so great and so beautiful, obviously. We had it done in about two hours which is actually pretty good! Go baby L! Below are a few of my favorites. I was happy because we were also able to match the color scheme in her nursery. They will look so great in her room!
What happens when your sister has a new baby and you are a newborn photographer? You pack up your props and equipment and head to Colorado!
Let me tell you, travel sessions are no small feat but I value photography so much that I do it to help client’s meet their needs. Normally, I wouldn’t travel all the way to Colorado but I’m a nice sister 😉
Baby Owen was born 3 weeks early. He was teeny tiny and oh so precious. He was a whopping one week old for his session and he was a dream. We did A LOT of setups. Baby with older brother, with mom and dad, with mom, with dad, whole family, on bean bag, in props. YIKES! All those setups make for a really long session and baby usually gets annoyed to the point of ending the session. Not with Owen. He slept the entire time like nothing was even going on. He was even considerate enough not to make any “messes” on me or my stuff. He wasn’t as nice to his mom later on in the session, lol. Thanks Owen! We had a good laugh.
